Marriage Advice to the Newly Married or Engaged
-From your family at Goldsmith Gallery Jewelers

Goldsmith Gallery Jewelers Owners Scott and Kelly

From the Owners,
Scott and Kelly Wickam:

1) Communicate with each other about disagreements, but do it in a way that isn't hurtful to the other person or too one-sided.

2) Never go to bed angry with each other.

3) Have fun and be adventurous together but also have your own interests and be your own person.

4) Work as partners toward your goals- financial goals, parenting goals, career goals and health goals by encouraging and helping each other.

5) Finally, make sure you take time to relax your mind and body.

6) Oh, and don't ever stop telling each other "I love you". Our lives are so busy, the time goes by very quickly. One day you wake up and realize you've been married for 25 years. :) That is an accomplishment to be proud of!

Jason and Katie

From Jason Thompson,
our General Manager (with his wife, Katie):

1. Recognize that the journey through life isn't an easy one; the person you married is there to ready and waiting to help with whatever they can.

2. Outside of professional, personal and lifetime goals, make it a daily goal to do something that makes your partner smile.

3. Pride means nothing when it comes to matters of the heart, let your ego go and do what's best for your marriage, not yourself.

Kristen and Heath

From Kristen Donisthorpe Herbold,
Assistant Manager (with her husband, Heath)

1) Always take time to focus on each other with no distractions, even if it's just for 20 minutes a day.

2) When things are hard, go back and remind yourself of the reasons you fell in love early on.

3) Don't let yourself get into too much of a routine where you forget to pay attention to and appreciate each other.

4) Every time you say “I love you”, look them in the eye and mean it instead of just saying it out of habit.

5) Last, when you have a disagreement, stop and truly try to see things from their side instead only trying to get your point across.

deb and jess

From Debora Callison, Marketing Coordinator (with her husband Jess)

1) Treat each other with the highest elevation of trust and respect, always.

2) Work it out. It isn't always going to be easy at the moment, but it will be worth it later.

3) While dining out, the husband must always save a little extra for “fork-probing” from the wife.

4) Diamonds or Yogos are always appreciated...never hurts to surprise your gal ;-)

5) Life is short...enjoy it!

Getting Engaged? Consider an Alternative (to your ring)

Tuesday, May 21, 2019 12:24:00 PM America/Los_Angeles

I, like a select few of other lucky women, have an exceptionally gorgeous and unique Yogo engagement ring. It does not shine bright with facets of light like most traditional diamond rings, but instead entrances me to gaze deeper into it's rich, clear blue presence resembling endless sapphire skies, crystalline lakes and my husband's eye color. Never escaping a moment to grasp my attention, this lightweight gem feels like I'm carrying an ocean full of memories and love.
